New Small Jaguar - but not before a new XF We’ve discussed the replacement for the Jaguar X-Type – dubbed the New Small Jaguar – almost endlessly over the last year or two. Which with both the Jaguar XF and the Jaguar XJ replacing cars that were good but really didn’t sell, and turning them in to contenders for the top-spot in their sectors, a replacement for the X-Type is of huge interest. Jean-Pierre Ploué, Citroën Styling Director since 2000, has been appointed Director of Styling for the entire PSA Peugeot Citroën Group effective October 1. In this capacity, he will lead all of the Peugeot and Citroën styling teams, which have been consolidated at the Group's Automotive Design Network facility in Vélizy since 2004. This combined Peugeot and Citroën design center provides effective support for the Group's commitment to strengthening and differentiating the two brands' styling universes, a process that was initiated by Chairman Christian Streiff as part of the dynamic of the CAP 2010 program.

Marchionne's dilemma: To sell or not to sell Alfa to Volkswagen?

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's self-confidence has helped him tackle problems that lesser executives would duck, but he may have met his match. In a public test of Marchionne's faith in his own turnaround strategy, in September Volkswagen Chairman Ferdinand Piech bluntly announced that he wants to buy Alfa Romeo. Piech was suggesting that VW--and only VW--could transform Fiat's perennial money-losing brand into a real moneymaker.
