Datsun set to launch new car on July 15
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Datsun -- that's right we said Datsun -- revealed teaser sketches on Tuesday of its first new generation car, which will be unveiled in New Delhi, India on July 15. Normally we don't go much for teasers, but when it's a “new” car brand, we take notice. Datsun operated worldwide starting in 1914, until the last badge was peeled off a car in 1986, being replaced by Nissan.
Volkswagen builds 30 millionth Golf (2013)
Fri, 14 Jun 2013VW has built its 30 millionth Golf. The milestone car, a Mk7 TDI Bluemotion model, rolled off the Wolfsburg production line today (14 June 2013) and will be displayed at the factory’s open day to celebrate. On average, 2000 Golfs have been sold worldwide every day since its 1974, according to VW’s maths. Over the past 39 years there have been seven generations of Golf, from the Giugiaro-styled original right up to today’s range, which offers 227bhp in GTI Performance form, or 88mpg in the case of the Bluemotion.
Making of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo (video)
Sun, 30 Dec 2012Porsche has released a video chronicling the development of the Panamera Sport Turismo as the first model extension of the Panamera. Earlier this month we had a video from Porsche of the Panamera Sport Turismo on the move with comments and insights on the design process, and now we get a more detailed look at the development and thinking behind the transition from ugly duckling Panamera to stunningly good looking Panamera Sport Turismo. Porsche don’t want to call the Sport Turismo a Station Wagon, but that is effectively what the Sport Turismo is (and it can’t be a true Shooting Brake with four doors).
