No special purchase schemes for electric Golf

VOLKSWAGEN has announced that the electric-driven e-Golf will be sold just like any other Golf. The company will not separate battery rental from the purchase of the car, unlike Renault's approach with the Zoe, meaning that customers who buy the e-Golf will also be buying the batteries. There will be no special incentives like access to other Volkswagen cars for a limited number of days per year, which is a scheme in place with the electric-powered BMW i3.

Renault teases new Captur crossover

Renault has teased its Captur crossover ahead of its full unveiling on Friday. The image shows the front-end design of the car, which flags up many of the same cues as the latest Clio, unveiled in Paris last year. The tapering headlamps across the corners are instantly recognizable, for example.

Traffic delays 'to last weeks'

DRIVERS at the beginning of the summer holiday getaway are being warned of weeks of delays on the roads. The first major jams will be on Friday July 25, and the five Saturdays that follow, starting July 26 and ending August 23, are expected to be the most congested days of the summer. From traffic information company Inrix, the warnings included forecasts that hour-long journeys on Friday could take up to 90 minutes.
