Video: Jan Kaul explains Mercedes-Benz A-Class' interior

Mercedes-Benz has released a video exploring the interior of its new A-Class featuring the designer who headed the project. Jan Kaul explains in the video how the inspiration behind the interior was the subject of aviation, the same inspiration that produced the Concept A-Class show car. "The theme running through the design of the A-Class was definitely ‘less is more,'" says Kaul.

Two of these are world firsts for production cars: the electronic differential (E-Diff) and the steering wheel-mounted switch, which manages the integrated systems governing vehicle dynamics.

Apparently, this ad got banned from TV in the UK. I suppose you can see why, but if it doesn’t make you at least smile, if not laugh out loud, then you must have had a sense of humour by-pass! It always seems strange what gets a ban and what doesn’t.
