Windage tray is designed for the aftermarket IA2 and KRE blocks but works on all Pontiac V-8's with splayed or regular main caps - both 2 bolt and 4 bolt! I mostly use this on steel 4 bolt main factory blocks. It will bolt on all 3 main caps. The tray also acts like a mini main cap girdle. This tray was used on my 1000 HP blown alky dragster for 10 years. I attribute this windage tray and my crank scraper for never hurting a bearing in that engine.
Tray allows for better oil control and entry back to the oil pan then glue on trays.
Controls windage from higher RPM engines.
Tig welded stands are super strong.
Will not crack or break like factory style trays with redirect curve. Tray is designed as a quick install/removal for engine builders and checking bearings where time is an important factor. A crank scraper is recommended with this tray. Dip stick tube (if used) must be welded or staked to external tube - or a bracket must be welded and bolted to tray.
I recomend the Canton oil pan with external dip stick - or no dip stick at all.
Windage tray may need to be shimmed to clear certain stroke/rod combinations. Shims should be made from rectangular stock - washers not recommended. Shimming more then 1/4" may not allow the oil pan to fit. I never needed to shim the tray much even for 4.5" stroke cranks.
Rotate crankshaft several times and check for clearance.
It may be necessary to straighten louvers to clear connecting rods.
Tray may need to clearanced by bending for certain oil pumps. It is best to fit all components. Tray may be mounted with allen socket bolts, or pan head bolts. Regular 5/16 bolts with 1/2 hex head will not allow socket to fit. Chrysler header bolts with a 7/16 bolt head will work. You may also use 5/16 carb studs and 12 point nuts from ARP. Grade 8 lock washers are also recommended.
Developed by Spotts Performance when I tested the very first IA block for All Pontiac.
Used in some of the fastest Pontiacs. All materials, components and labor proudly made in the US! Also available from Butler Performance and All Pontiac

New car sales in Cuba soured by 400-percent markups

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

While most analysts expected Cuba's lift of a decades-long ban on the sale of new cars to come with an asterisk or five, few could have predicted that the internationally hailed move would immediately turn out to be a mirage. Private car sales in Cuba have been heavily regulated by the government since 1959, and imports had been banned almost entirely. On Jan.

Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis is the ‘Most Significant Concept Vehicle of 2013′

Sun, 07 Jul 2013

The Hyundai HCD-14 (pictured) is the most significant concept car of 2013 Hyundai does do good concept cars, and they do have a bit of a track record of taking more of what a concept promises through to production than many other car makers. Like the i-Flow that turned in to the Hyundai i40. So the news that a Hyundai concept has grabbed the gong for the most significant concept car of 2013 does auger well for a future where the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis actually turns in to the next Genesis, with much of what the concept offers still recognisable.
