VW planning to sell 2 versions of Polo compact in U.S.

Volkswagen plans to sell two versions of its Polo compact car in the United States: a sedan smaller than the current Jetta and a four-door hatchback roomier than the one shown this month at the Geneva auto show. Both versions would be designed especially for the United States, said Volkswagen Group of America CEO Stefan Jacoby. Sales could start in 2011, he said.

Dacia's UK launch postponed

It had planned to launch the cheap 'n' cheerful badge in the UK in February 2009, but that's now gone back a year, the company announced today. CAR was due to drive the Sandero – the UK launch model – in July 2008, but PRs today took the unusual step of ringing the media to cancel the event.

Toyota has revealed the revised Land Cruiser for 2010 But times move on, and Toyota has decided a modest facelift and a re-vamp is called for, and they have released details of the changes for their most iconic model, which will launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week, and go on sale in the UK in December. There are a number of styling tweaks inside and out to keep the venerable Land Cruiser fresh, including a revised dash and trim and tweaks to the bumpers and lights.
