This is a genuine WWII OEM Jeep GPW or Willys MB Military Jack. Found on Military vehicles of the WWII era.  This jack was purchased from an elderly gentlemans' large collection of vintage car and truck jacks, (I purchased around 200 of them!) and these beauties are in fine condition. The vast majority of the jacks in this collection pre-date WWII. These genuine jacks were stored inside a dry outbuilding, not in the boot of a car. They were out of the moisture and that is the reason this jack still functions as new!  This fine WWII jack is as found and has not even been properly cleaned. It will be better than the pictures indicate with no damage at all. I ran the jack all the way up and all the way down with no binding at all as, the screw shafts are perfect. It is ready for use. You pull the UP/DOWN control against the spring pressure (yes the spring is still perfect!) and then dial either UP or DOWN. The ratchet cranks the jack in the desired direction. The BONUS lug wrench fits 3/4" lugs. This jack still has some of the OEM paint. (RARE!) This is nearly ready to be mounted in your  collector Jeep as is! (judges appreciate originals with original patina more and more these days) I utilized an OEM, jack in my 1955 Jaguar MK-VIIM saloon and believe the OEM tools actually helped sell the car a few years ago. My Jag was sold to a real Jaguar enthusiast from Denmark. Doesn't your prize GPW deserve this great finishing touch? Get it now as originals are getting harder and harder to find. Have you priced any ORIGINAL lately? Your reward for final detailing and paint is FREE shipping!

Tue, 12 May 2009

There are a thousand questions surrounding the electric car: Who will make it? Will it really work? And--to the chagrin of General Motors brass--who killed it?

AC Cars returns to UK

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 23 April 2008 14:28 AC Cars is coming back to Britain to build its sports car range at Brooklands. It follows an unsuccessful foray to manufacture cars in Malta – which has ended in a legal dispute over the island factory. The company will make the original AC Ace, the AC MK11, the AC MK11 FIA and the AC MK111 at an AC specialist based in Surrey, England, employing artisans to make the aluminium chassis.

July 11: Visiting a rival

Sun, 11 Jul 2010

I will take it to work all week, including Wednesday when I go to Santa Monica to drive a Nissan Leaf electric car. I wonder how they'll take to seeing a competitor in the parking lot. Not far enough to worry about range, though I will look for a charging spot in Santa Monica.
