Vauxhall Meriva (2010): first news and pictures
Tue, 05 Jan 2010By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 05 January 2010 00:01 The new Vauxhall Meriva is opening up entry to the suicide door club – previously the preserve of Rolls-Royces and Mazda sports cars. Unveiled today, the new Meriva mini-MPV premieres GM’s FlexDoor technology, designed to make it easier to climb in and out. Or just show off in the car park (delete according to your personal scepticism).Although available on one side of the Mini Clubman, the Meriva promises to democratise the suicide door, with prices from around £14,000 when UK sales start in June 2010.The rear-hinged back doors open to nearly 90deg and are claimed to help ease access to the Meriva – a promise we’ll check out when we sit in it at the 2010 Geneva motor show.
Audi A8 L (2010 / 2011) revealed
Fri, 16 Apr 2010The Audi A8 L 2011 will debut at the Beijing Motor Show There were times when we didn’t expect Audi to deliver a W12 engine in the new Audi A8. After all, with the rise and rise of the environmental lobby anything that doesn’t run on bio-fuel and emit fairy dust can expect to be castigated by the green-halo wearers as a planet-killer. So it’s a joy to see Audi give the finger to the naysayers and introduce the new W12 in the new Long Wheelbase 2010 / 2011 Audi A8 revealed this morning.
Bentley & Audi to share new V8 – the end of the W12?
Sat, 09 Oct 2010The Bentley Continental GT V8 will share an engine with Audi When we reported on the reveal of the new 2011 Bentley Continental GT, we noted that Bentley had plans to launch a V8 version of the Conti sometime next year. What we didn’t get was too much information from Bentley on the new V8, except the little nugget that the V8 going in to the Bentley would be Audi sourced. Which makes sense.
