What are HIDs?
HID (High Intensity Discharge) refers to lighting technology that relies on an electrical charge to ignite xenon gas contained in a sealed bulb. A normal halogen bulb uses a filament which can burn out in as little as 200 hours. HID bulbs are gas filled capsules that are rated for a lifespan of nearly 4500 hours. HID bulbs also shine much brighter due to this technology.
Unlike halogen bulbs, HID's emit a type of light that closely resembles natural daylight and is therefore much easier on human eyes. In fact, HID lights are currently used in most sports arenas, stadiums, and train stations worldwide. Don't be fooled by lower end Xenon replica bulbs sold at most retail shops. They are no match for the intensity, purity, and efficiency of high intensity discharge headlights.
Benefits of HID's:
- LASTS UP TO 10X LONGER THAN THE TRADITIONAL HALOGEN BULBYOU ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING IN YOUR CAR
- HID (5000K) WILL GIVE YOU A NATURAL WHITE LIGHT THAT IS SOFT ON YOUR EYES AND YET INTENSIVE (3 TIMES BRIGHTER THAN HALOGEN) ENOUGH TO LET YOU SEE OBSTICALS 1/4 MILE IN FRONT OF YOU GIVING YOU MUCH MORE REACTION TIME, THUS MAKING YOUR NIGHT TIME DRIVING MUCH SAFER.
- DRAMATICALLY ENHANCE THE LOOK OF YOUR HEADLIGHTS. WITH CHOICES OF DIFFERENT COLOR TEMPERATURES (K), HID'S WILL GIVE YOUR CAR THE AGREESIVE LOOK OR THE LUXURY CAR LOOK YOU ALWAYS WANTED!
- EASY INSTALL! MOST OF THE APPLICATION WILL BE 100% PLUG AND PLAY AND IT IS AS EASY AS REPLACING YOUR HEADLIGHT BULBS.
- INSTALL WILL BE AS EASY AS 1 2 3. SIMPLY TAKE OUT YOUR HALOGEN BULBS FROM YOUR HEADLIGHT HOUSING AND REPLACE IT WITH THE HID BULBS, CONNECT THE HID BULBS TO THE BALLAST, AND CONNECT THE BALLAST TO THE FACTORY HARNESS, YOU ARE DONE!
- 100% WATER AND WEATHER PROOF, YOU CAN SUBMERGE THE ENTIRE KIT IN TO WATER AND IT WILL FUNCTION AND OPERATE NORMALLY!

First BMW i8 for US to be auctioned at Pebble Beach
Sun, 27 Jul 2014The Frozen Grey BMW i8 for Pebble Beach The other end of the scale from BMW’s i3 City Car is the BMW i8 Supercar and, despite its modest 1.5 litre range-extender engine for its electric propulsion it seems to offer proper borderline supercar performance. With just an estimated 500 BMW i8s heading for the US this year, BMW has decided it would be a bit of a wheeze to produce a one-off i8 for the US market to plonk in Gooding and Co’s auction at Pebble Beach in August to give one lucky American buyer the chance to jump the queue for the i8 and inject some funds in to Pebble. So they’ve created a special i8 for Pebble which comes with a Frozen Grey Metallic paint job and a titivated interior with Dalbergia Brown Leather upholstery that’s been dyed using plant extracts – all very ‘Green’ – with BMW i Blue for the stitching and highlights.
Honda Jazz / Honda Fit recall – faulty electric window switch
Sat, 30 Jan 2010Honda is recalling the Jazz/Fit to replace faulty electric window switches It’s not exactly on the scale of the Toyota recall for a sticking throttle, but nevertheless the announcement by Honda that they are recalling almost 650,000 (MY 2002-2008) Honda Fits (that’s the Honda Jazz in the UK) around the world is another blow to a Japanese car maker just as the worst of the auto industry woes of the last year or two seem to be easing. The European Honda Jazz recall seems only to affect RHD cars, so it looks like it’s just the UK that needs a fix to the master window switch on the driver’s door on 171,00 models here. If the window gets left open for long periods – or if there are long periods of heavy rain – water can get in to the switch and cause it to malfunction and, at worst, catch fire.
