Dodge Charger and Challenger refreshed for New York auto show
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Dodge is set to unveil a refreshed Charger and Challenger for the 2015 model year. Prior to the debut of the models at the New York auto show next week, the automaker has dropped a few teaser images. First, Dodge has given the front fascia of the Charger a serious redesign, trading the large, upright headlights for sleeker units, also dramatically altering the grille design.
Henrik Fisker resigns from Fisker Automotive
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Henrik Fisker, founder and executive chairman of struggling plug-in hybrid vehicle maker Fisker Automotive, has resigned. In an email today to Automotive News, Henrik Fisker, referring to himself in the third person, said: "The main reasons for his resignation are several major disagreements that Henrik Fisker has with the Fisker Automotive executive management on the business strategy." Fisker confirmed his resignation in a phone interview and declined to comment further. Tony Posawatz, who became president and CEO of the company in August, said this morning that he had just been made aware of the resignation.
New NHTSA guidelines recommend vehicle systems disable text entry, videos while driving
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Federal regulators, moving to curb distracted driving, issued final voluntary safety guidelines today that would disable certain in-vehicle functions such as manual texting, Web browsing and video phoning while driving. Automakers should do more to keep drivers' eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, U.S. auto regulators said as they released the latest guidelines meant to cut down on crashes caused by the use of electronic devices in cars.
