Thu, 20 Aug 2009The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. Even though we’re living in a car world that’s more global in its offerings than ever before, there are still significant differences between offerings in different markets. The Fiat 500 in the US offers an Abarth in its range, but just so the colonials don’t get confused it’s badged as the Fiat 500 Abarth rather than Abarth 500.
Mercedes try to 'bring the noise' back to F1
Thu, 15 May 2014MERCEDES trialled a device aimed at amplifying and improving the much-maligned sound made by the 2014 marque Formula One cars on the second day of testing in Barcelona. With new V6 engines forming part of an overhaul in F1 regulations, widespread criticism of the dulcet tones has continued from the opening race of the season in Australia. With F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone amongst those to question the enjoyment of listening to the new engines, the teams decided to look into ways of making it a more pleasurable experience.
