EVs are back in Revenge of the Electric Car

Revenge of the Electric Car, by writer/director Chris Paine, follows General Motors' Bob Lutz, Nissan's Carlos Ghosn, Tesla's Elon Musk and backyard inventor Greg "Gadget" Abbott from 2007 to 2010, when their respective companies were getting in (or returning) to the electric-car game. Paine also wrote and directed the contentious 2006 documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? That film followed the GM EV1 electric vehicle from buyer's hands to the junkyard when the company controversially collected and destroyed them all.

Volkswagen has given the second-generation Touareg an update, and it's bringing the refreshed SUV to the Beijing motor show next week. The Touareg has been a solid global success for Volkswagen with over 720,000 units sold, despite all the ink expended discussing its pricing (especially compared to the rest of the automaker's range), and the company has spent quite a bit of time and money updating the Touareg for the 2015 model year. Cool Cars and Hot August Nights

Hot August Nights is a weeklong party, and the cars are the stars. Not just any cars--vintage, cool cars, mostly from the 1950s and '60s. American-made muscle cars such as Ford Mustangs, Shelby Cobras, Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac GTOs dominate the festival in Reno, Nev., but there are also plenty of Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles, AMCs and even some Jaguars, Volkswagens and Mini Coopers seen cruising the streets of northern Nevada.
