Steve McQueen’s Ferrari 275 GTB4 restored by Ferrari Classiche
Mon, 11 Jun 2012Ferrari Classiche has taken Steve McQueen’s Ferrari 275 GTB4 and put it back to original Coupe form with and-beaten steel panels. We all know that classic Ferraris are one of the better investments you can make, certainly in the long term. Just look at the recent sale of a Ferrari 250 GTO for $35 million (new price in the early 1960s was £6k) for evidence of the enormous prices classic Ferraris fetch, certainly the pre-Fiat Ferraris where production numbers were small.
Audi R18 TDI (2011): first pictures of the new Le Mans racer
Mon, 13 Dec 2010This is the new Audi R18, Ingolstadt’s latest LMP1 endurance racer which will compete in the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours. Compared to its R15 predecessor, the new Audi R18 has gained a roof and the mandatory-for-2011 ‘shark fin’ engine cover, but it’s lost four cylinders – the R18 is powered by a turbocharged V6. It is – like the R10 and R15, the R18 is an oil-burner.
Vauxhall DROPS Lifetime Warranty – quietly during the Paris Motor Show news rush
Fri, 03 Oct 2014Vauxhall DROPS Lifetime Warranty Vauxhall trumpeted the arrival of a Lifetime Warranty for all their new cars 4 years ago, a move that was designed to show confidence in their cars and tackle the substantial warranties on new cars offered by companies like Hyundai and Kia. But now, in a lesson doubtless learned from ‘bad news’ burying in politics, Vauxhall has revealed they’re dropping the Lifetime Warranty from 2015, no doubt hoping it won’t make headlines in the middle of the news rush from the Paris Motor Show. So now, instead of a lifetime warranty (which was really only for 100,000 miles) buyers of new Vauxhalls will get a fairly bog-standard 60,000 mile/3 year warranty.
