Yamaha 8hp Short Shaft 2-Stroke
I purchased this outboard (2001 Yamaha 8hp Short Shaft 2-Stroke) on eBay in September of 2012 from Palm Beach Outboards. I have since purchased a larger engine for my boat.
Since acquiring the Yamaha, I have run it for no more than 4 hours in fresh water on an inflatable boat.
The engine reliably starts right up and is very responsive to the throttle.
My observations during operation of the outboard:
• Reliably starts right up and runs well
• When in gear under load, engine stalls out at low idle and bogs down at WOT (may just need a carb cleaning?)
• Appears to pump water strongly; however I would recommend changing the impeller as I do not know its history
• Entire outboard has been nicely repainted
• Outboard shows indication that it has been run in salt water
• Upper cowl has been repaired (as viewed from interior as repaired by previous owner) but looks great on exterior
• Photos are of actual outboard.
Includes (1) fuel line.
Does not include fuel tank.
Buyer responsible for all related shipping costs.
Sold 'as-is'. No warranty or returns.
