About the Kit
Replace the scratched, nicked, rusted, missing, or chewed up compressed oatmeal stock screws with these very attractive stainless steel socket head fasteners. This is a custom hand picked highly corrosion resistant, attractive, and durable stainless steel hardware screw kit to replace many of the stock fasteners on your motorcycle. These shiny screws will stay beautiful for the life of the motorcycle. Kit is complete, well sorted, and highly detailed with full instructions. The Yamaha FJ1200 stainless steel screw kit is a very high quality, well thought out, and extremely detailed kit. This intense 169-piece screw kit contains A2-70 grade metric stainless steel designed specifically for the very classy FJ1200 sportbike. Do not be surprised if you find higher corrosion resistant A4 hardware in our kits. The step-by-step instructions are written in plain English and are easy to follow. Our screws are Button, Cap, Low Cap, and Flat Head style requiring common Hex key tools. Self-tapping screws are all Phillips head stainless. Kit even includes nylon washers for the windscreen. Kit is designed specifically for the 1989-1993 bikes, yet also fits the early machines quite well but not perfectly. We do not as yet have a kit for the newer FJ1200.

The FJ1200 fasteners are separated into 7 zip lock bags and clearly labeled according to screw type and location. Assembly instructions correspond to bag ID. Difficulty level: medium. Buyer need only basic wrenching ability, some free shop time, and common tools. Stainless kits make a great weekend project or gift idea. Porsche nearing 900 orders for its 918 Spyder hybrid concept

Mon, 26 Apr 2010

When Porsche AG showed the 918 Spyder at the Geneva show in March, we said it was a car to “make anyone a believer in hybrid supercar tech.” Well, maybe not anyone, but Porsche now says it has almost 900 potential buyers for the two-seater hybrid prototype as the German automaker gets closer to approving production. Porsche development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer said he is confident the company will soon reach the threshold of 1,000 orders, which is how many the company needs to “make a sound business case.” The 918 has 680 hp and, according to Porsche, will get 78 mpg and run from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. Porsche said it wants to double its overall vehicle sales to 150,000 in the next five years or so.
