Chevrolet updates Impala logo
Mon, 16 Apr 2012Chevrolet has announced that its 2014 Impala will feature a redesigned emblem as the latest evolvement of the range's African antelope logo. The Impala model is one of only two vehicles – the other being the Corvette and its crossed-flags – in Chevrolet's range to have its own exclusive symbol, and thus it has been upgraded to complement the design of the latest model. Volvo celebrates the seatbelt’s golden anniversary

It was patented by Volvo engineer Nils Bohlin in 1959, but the Swedes magnanimously opened up the tech to other car makers as they saw the real-world safety benefit of seatbelts in all cars. The design was so effective that in Germany the patent registrars listed it in the top eight inventions which have made an impact from 1885 to 1985.
RIP Sergio Pininfarina 1926–2012
Tue, 03 Jul 2012Sergio Pininfarina died last night at his home in Turin. He was 85 years old. Born in Turin on 8 September 1926 to Pininfarina's founder Battista Farina, Sergio was instrumental in growing the company during his almost 50 years at the helm of the most famous Italian design house.
