And here it is. Land Rover has given the new Range Rover an extra 140mm of rear leg room to make it a properly spacious VIP transporter, and seem to have done so without spoiling the Range Rover’s proportions; extended rear doors manage to look like they belong.

A NEW report on potential changes to young driver training could cut accident casualties by more than 4,000 a year. The report, from transport research group TRL, recommends teenagers should not be allowed to take their driving test until they are 18, rather than the current threshold of 17. They would have to have a 12-month "learner stage" beginning at 17 with a requirement for at least 100 hours of day-time and 20 hours of night-time supervised practice.

Chrysler may develop a unibody small pickup positioned below the Dakota, whose production will end in 2011. "We're thinking of something that will separate itself from the full-sized truck more than what happens today, both in capability, price and size," said Joe Veltri, Chrysler Group vice president of product planning. "The Ram brand has room to expand into a compact-truck segment." Veltri, interviewed this month at the National Truck Equipment Association's Work Truck Show in St.
