If you thought the old Daihatsu Copen roadster was a bit feminine for a ‘sports’ car, you’ll be pleased with this: Daihatsu’s new, butched-up, small two-seater roadster, the 2014 RMZ Kopen concept. The aggressive-looking mini cabriolet will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show later this month alongside another, rather interesting version of Daihatsu’s didi prototype – the off-road-inspired XMZ Kopen concept. Koenigsegg planning an entry-level car – but it’ll still cost £500k

Koenigsegg are planning an entry-level car at half the price of the Agera R (pictured) Think of the cars that Christian von Koenigsegg has made since he started with the CC8S in 2002 and you think of them as extremes of the supercar genre; the Swedish engineering take on the bloated and massively complex Bugatti Veyron. Christian’s men in a shed in Sweden have gone on to make a series of progressively quicker and more impressive supercars, through the CCR, CCX and the Agera and on to the current most extreme iteration – the Koenigsegg One:1. But it looks like Christian has decided that his ambition to create the world’s greatest hypercar leaves room for a ‘Lesser’ Koenigsegg, a car that still has innovative engineering and extreme performance but comes at a lower price.

2013 Peugeot 208 GTi Limited Edition

Peugeot are producing a limited run of 29 special 208 GTi models to kick off sales of the new GTi – price £20,495. It’s hard to believe, but this week’s Paris Motor Show is actually the public debut of the production version of the new Peugeot 208GTi, following the actual 208 GTi reveal earlier this month Based on the 208 GTi Concept we saw at Geneva in the spring, the 2013 GTi is a car Peugeot hopes will cast a performance glow across the rest of the 208 range, just as the 205 GTi did in years gone by. To kick off sales of the new 208 GTi, Peugeot has revealed a Limited Edition version – catchily branded the 208 GTi Limited Edition – which will be available to buyers ahead of the first regular GTis.
