Paul Walker crash site known for street racers
Tue, 03 Dec 2013STREET RACERS are known to use the California neighbourhood where Fast & Furious star Paul Walker died in a car crash. Walker and his friend and fellow fast-car enthusiast Roger Rodas died on Saturday when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT they were travelling in smashed into a lamppost and a tree. The two had taken what was expected to be a brief drive away from a charity event at Mr Rodas' custom car shop in the Southern California community of Valencia, about 30 miles north west of Los Angeles.
Ferrari 250 GTO – the ‘Budget’ version
Fri, 06 Aug 2010The 250 GTO Evocazione - a replica Ferrari 250 GTO The last time we had a Ferrari 250 GTO in the news was when we broke the story that Chris Evans had acquired a Ferrari 250 GTO for an undiclosed price (thought to be £12 million +). Vauxhall VXR8 & SMART for-two CDI take MPG Marathon honours
Mon, 10 Oct 2011Vauxhall VXR8 & SMART for-two CDI take MPG Marathon honours On the face of it, it’s reasonable to expect a car as small as the SMART for-two CDI to be capable of astonishing economy if driven in a certain way. And the ALD Automotive / Shell FuelSave MPG Marathon, run last week near Cirencester, proved exactly that, with a SMART driven by Mick Linford and co-driver Ella Flynn managing to use less than four gallons of diesel to cover the 370 mile route. That means the SMART fortwo CDI averaged 99.24mpg on the route on real roads, an improvement of 16 per cent on the official combined figure of 85.6.
