Ford Fiesta back on top as car sales continued to rise in June
Thu, 05 Jul 2012UK new car sales were up again in June 2012 with an increase of 3.5 per cent year on year. The Ford Fiesta is back as the top seller. It’s hard to credit that there’s a recession on when one of the biggest purchases most of us ever make – a new car – seems immune to the economic doom and gloom.
Hyundai Veloster Turbo gets 400bhp
Tue, 16 Oct 2012Hyundai in the US has created a Veloster for this year’s SEMA show – the Hyundai Velocity – with a 400bhp Cosworth makeover. SEMA show cars are always extreme and always completely over the top, but they do show just what can be done with mainstream cars when car makers are let off the leash of marketing constraints. This year Hyundai is out playing, and as well as creating a Genesis Coupe with Cosworth power they’ve also taken the new Hyundai Veloster Turbo and created a 400bhp monster SEMA car.
USED VALUES HOLD STEADY
Thu, 10 Oct 2013THERE was no change in the value of the average used car between October and November 2010, according to new figures from BCA. November values were down £111 year-on-year and remained at £5,792 There was a slight increase in the volume of used vehicles reaching the market in November, but not enough to provoke any change. A seasonal lack of interest on the market is to blame for the lack of fluctuation as well as travel difficulties created by the cold weather, according to BCA, and the drop off in demand is likely to remain into December.
