Start up mobility van maker VPG shuts down
Wed, 08 May 2013Van maker Vehicle Production Group -- recipient of a $50 million loan from the U.S. Department of Energy -- has suspended operations and is in the process of being sold, its former CEO said Wednesday. The Allen Park, Mich., company, which made MV-1 vans for the disabled, terminated about 100 workers and closed its offices in February.
Flying A Garage makes a hard landing

America's Car Collection, housed at the Flying A Garage in Winnemucca, Nev., had cars by Ed Roth, the Alexander Brothers and Harry Bradley, along with memorabilia from Von Dutch and Roth. The event was formerly known as the Monterey Pre-Historics, and it serves as a lead-in to the Monterey Motorsports Reunion staged during the Pebble Beach weekend on the Monterey Peninsula.
