Thu, 16 Sep 2010Automotivated, a new exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, traces the evolution of clothes worn in cars--from the bulky circus-tent stuff people had to wear to keep from freezing to death in the jangly, open-topped conveyances of 100 years ago, up to the height of the European Concours in the 1920s and '30s, when what you and your date wore was just as important to winning best of show as the styling of your Delahaye/Delage/Talbot Lago. “In the earliest days of the automobile, you were sitting on the car, you weren't sitting in it,” said Leslie Kendall, curator at the Petersen. So the first section of the exhibit shows people (mannequins dressed as people) in heavy, practical overcoats, scarves and goggles.
Infiniti LE Concept

The LE Concept, which is approximately the same length as an the brand's G Sedan, features Infiniti design cues such as the double-arch grille, crescent-cut C-pillar and a strong shoulder line surface. Design features such as the aluminum-alloy wheels with aero treatment, the high rear deck, rear aero diffuser and aero side fin spoilers with integrated illumination contribute to the coefficient of drag of 0.25.
Low-level lights for cyclists get approval
Mon, 16 Dec 2013NEW TRAFFIC LIGHTS designed specifically for cyclists have been approved by the Government, following a successful trial. The low-level lights repeat the signals displayed by the normal traffic lights, and the results of the trial were that 80% of cyclists favoured their use. Following the approval Transport for London can now install the lights at Bow Roundabout – the first time the lights have been used in the UK.
