Ferrari salutes Sergio Pininfarina
Tue, 03 Jul 2012Ferrari has a singular identity, but the look, the image and the attitude were crafted, elevated and carefully honed largely by another superlative Italian company—Pininfarina. Mindful of this, the Prancing Horse paid tribute to longtime Pininfarina chairman Sergio Pininfarina, who died on July 2 at the age of 85. “Calling his relation with Ferrari legendary is insufficient,” Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo said in a statement.
Top Gear: Clarkson, Hammond & May sign for another 3 years
Fri, 28 Sep 2012It’s been revealed that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have signed up for another 3 years of Top Gear. There may not be a new series of Top Gear on its way until 2013, but we now know that Top Gear as we know it – with Jeremy, Richard and James – is safe for another three years after the trio signed a new deal with the BBC, tying them in to Top Gear until 2016. So, despite the naysayers claiming Top Gear has had its day and will end soon, we can guarantee another three years of the nation’s (and the world’s) favourite car entertainment programme.
Peugeot tease new sports saloon concept for Beijing Motor Show
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Lurking under this cover is a new Peugeot Concept for the 2014 Beijing Motor Show Peugeot do good concepts, even if many don’t actually make it in to production. A case in point is the stunning Peugeot Onyx Concept we saw at the Paris Motor Show in 2012, which came with great styling, copper and carbon fibre bodywork, the use of unusual materials like crystal glass and compressed paper and a powertrain that used a 3.7 litre V8 at the back with an electric motor for added green credentials. Peugeot say their latest concept – which will debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April and is teased by the photo above – will use the same sort of innovative materials as the Onyx (which probably means it too will never see production) and preview the future of Peugeot’s styling.
