This is a finned generator cover machined from 6061 billet aluminum. I made several type generator covers for my Yamaha XS650 café project because I wasn't sure of the look I wanted.  I test fitted all the covers on my 71, 80 and 82 xs650s without a problem.  This finned cover I have for sale is the type that has 1/8" fins spaced 300 thousands apart. The outside edge has been beveled for shifter clearance.  The finish on this one is light emery with a machine finish as you can see from the pictures. This cover fit my 71, 80 and 82 Yamaha XS650, but if your screw holes vary in your casting it may be necessary for you to file the holes a few thousandths  to match your bike. The whole engine pictures are of the cover on my 1982 XS650 447 model engine as an example. This cover comes with two 304 stainless socket head screws to mount the cover. Shipping will be $5.80 which is what it cost me through the USPS. No returns accepted, No international buyers which means USA only and Paypal only. There will be deliver conformation on this.

The 2011 Volkswagen Touareg rolls out with a new hybrid powertrain

Thu, 11 Feb 2010

Volkswagen is banking on the fuel-saving properties of a new gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain and what it describes as a wholesale improvement in quality levels to bolster North American sales of its second-generation Touareg. This new Touareg represents VW's first foray into the premium-hybrid-SUV market, which includes gasoline-electric entries from BMW, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Cadillac, among others. Further competition will come from a similarly powered version of the new Porsche Cayenne, alongside which the new Touareg was developed.

Finalists announced in Car Design News-Opel/Vauxhall interactive competition exterior design phase

Wed, 23 Feb 2011

Car Design News is pleased to announce the finalists in the exterior design phase of the Car Design News – Opel/Vauxhall interactive design competition. Pierin Giacomo and Victor Uribe of IED school of design in Turin (who are finalists in the interior phase) are joined by Jadir E Minutti, from IAAD in Turin, Italy and Lina, from Creapole school in Paris, France. The approaches of the students to the exterior design phase differed greatly, and because of this the judges felt that four, rather than three, students merited being invited to Geneva where the winner of the exterior design phase will be announced, together with those for the interior phase which closed in December 2010.

Spyker at Salon Prive 2013 with B6 Venator & C8 Aileron – and maybe the Venator Spyder

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

The Spyker B6 Venator (pictured) will be at Salon Prive this year Victor Muller rolled out his new plans for Spyker ahead of the Geneva Motor Show this year with the arrival of the very convincing Spyker B6 Venator and typically grandiose plans to build and sell so many Spyker would be back on top. But Victor’s plans didn’t stop there, and by April it was clear that Spyker were also planning on building a Venator Spyder too as Victor’s plans to take on the £100k plus sports car market grew. So with plans to make Spyker a force to be reckoned with, Spyker are off to this year’s garden party with cars – Salon Prive – in September with not just the B6 Venator but also the C8 Aileron.
