This is an alternator cover machined from 6061 billet aluminum. I made several for my Yamaha XS650 café project and test fitted them on my 71 and 82 xs650s without a problem.  This is a little different than the other rounded covers I have made in that it has a more rounder profile with more a protruding curvature, because of the difference in profile I chose to list it too. The finish is light emery with no polishing as you can see from the pictures. The back side has marks from machining as shown in the pictures. This cover fit both my 71 and 82 XS650 but if your screw holes vary in your casting it may be necessary for you to file the holes a few thousandths  to match your bike. This cover comes with two stainless socket head screws to mount the cover. Shipping will be $5.80 which is what it cost me through the USPS. No returns accepted, No international buyers which means USA only and Paypal only. There will be deliver conformation on this.

Porsche 918 Spyder takes on the Nurburgring

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

Porsche has taken their concept hybrid supercar – the 918 Spyder – to the Nurburgring to set a time – 7 minutes 14 seconds. But a hybrid halo doesn’t have to mean poor performance, a point Porsche has proved by taking the 918 Spyder to the Nurburgring to set a lap time. The Porsche 918 Spyder can deliver a total of 759bhp from its race-derived V8 and two electric motors which, although less than the likely power available to the F70 of P1, is still a significant amount of get up and go.

2012 Fiesta ST confirmed

2012 Fiesta ST caught testing in the US (photo via WCF) We really like the current Ford Fiesta; it’s a cracking little car. It’s just a shame that the closest it comes to being a hot hatch is the little more than lukewarm Fiesta Zetec S. But that’s about to change, and not before time.

Shake-up at Tesla; a dozen UK orders

Thu, 16 Oct 2008

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 16 October 2008 11:22 Electric car start-up Tesla is restructuring its US operation and laying off around 100 staff, as the credit crunch continues to make life difficult for car companies big and small. It’s now on its fourth CEO in 12 months, as founder Elon Musk takes over from Ze’ev Drori. In an announcement on the chief exec’s blog, Tesla Motors said it would be ‘cash-flow positive’ within six to nine months – but only by increasing production and cutting operating costs.
