BMW 1 Series dead in US after 2013
Fri, 18 Oct 2013With its successor set to bow at the Detroit Auto Show in a couple of months' time, word's come down from BMW that 2013 will indeed be the end of the line for the BMW 1 Series — at least in the US. It will remain available elsewhere in the world as a three-door and five-door hatch. The coupe and convertible, meanwhile, are being replaced by the 2 Series, in convention with BMW's new naming scheme.
'Vespa Segway' unveiled in Spain
Mon, 23 Dec 2013A SPANISH company has revealed what must be the coolest-looking Segway ever made, built using parts designed for classic Vespa scooters. Officially called the Zero Scooter, it uses ordinary Segway running gear but wrapped in much, much jazzier Vespa clothes.
Chevrolet ups the apps for MyLink infotainment system
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Soon owners of new Chevrolet vehicles like the Corvette, Equinox, Impala, Malibu, Volt, and Silverado will be able to download a range of different apps directly to their vehicles through MyLink. This will be made possible by General Motors' deployment of high-speed 4G LTE connectivity through OnStar, which will allow software to be downloaded directly to the car's infotainment system. Owners will be able to select and download apps though the Chevrolet AppShop, which will be accessible through an icon on the MyLink screen.
