Infiniti Q30 concept (2013) first picture of Infiniti’s 1-series rival

This is our first look at the new Infiniti Q30 hatchback’s styling, in official design sketch form. Infiniti will display the actual Q30 concept at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2013 – the showroom model goes into production in 2015. Volvo has shown off its V40 family hatch resplendent in R-Design trim for the first time. The pack comprises sporty body addenda and wheels, tweaks to the interior and an optional sports chassis. Similar to the M Sport or S-line packages offered by BMW and Audi, R-Design is expected to be specced on 25% of UK-bought V40s.

BMW to offer four-cylinder diesels in North America to improve fuel efficiency

BMW will offer four-cylinder diesel engines in North America as it seeks to improve fuel efficiency and match the performance of its current six-cylinder gasoline engines. BMW is considering diesels in a range of models, including its 1 series, 3 series and 5 series sedans and possibly the X3 crossover and Z4 roadster, said Tom Baloga, vice president of engineering for BMW of North America. "You're going to see it in the 3 series, and the 5 series is a good possibility," Baloga said.
