Volkswagen reveals Taigun concept

Volkswagen has revealed its intention to join the burgeoning compact SUV ranks with the Taigun concept revealed at the Sao Paulo motor show in Brazil. The four-seat Taigun previews the look and mechanical layout for a new Volkswagen model to be positioned and priced below the popular Tiguan. The new SUV will be launched toward the middle of the decade as a rival to vehicles such as the Mini Countryman, Nissan Juke and Chevrolet Trax.

2006 Interior Motives Design Awards

Now into its fourth year, the annual design awards ceremony hosted by Interior Motives magazine was held on the second press day of the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Open to any registered school, the competition encourages students to submit their work in any of nine different categories, with the emphasis on interior design. VW to go totally turbo

A Volkswagen AG executive announced Tuesday that the company is planning to turbocharge the entire VW fleet by the 2016 or 2017. VW's executive vice president, Mark Trahan, spoke with The Detroit News, saying they will replace the company's remaining three naturally aspirated engines, a five-cylinder 2.5-liter and two six-cylinders with turbo mills.
