Nothing beats the sound of a radial engine starting up, however there is another perhaps equally as exciting  event, an Electric or Hand crank inertia accelerating motor. The wind up whine is unforgettable and when up to speed the starter is engaged turning the engine for start. This 12 Volt model does both, use electric start or when necessary you can hand crank the starter up to speed. We believe this unit to be new old stock and a rare find. If you can locate one? These are rare and popular original equipment. Judges love original equipment. You can easily pay $1,200 to $1,600 or more. Fits many engines and used on many WW11 Primary trainers like the Stearman PT-17’s Made by Bendix/Eclipse  New Jersey  Model 947-9A   S/N 4216  Clutch Setting Yellow Tag Check.

Few Stearmans and other’s have this original starter installed. Make you and Airshow Judges happy put this rare one on your aircraft and watch the crowds cheer when you start up!

The new Porsche Macan has been revealed – and the smaller SUV sibling to the hit Porsche Cayenne is all set to become another Porsche best-seller… but will it be a Range Rover Evoque beater? In a surprise reveal, the covers have been almost completely removed from the new Porsche Macan compact SUV, prior to its public debut at the 2013 LA Motor Show later in November. What emerges is an SUV that’s a clear evolution of the Porsche Cayenne, but which is also sportier, more sculptural and, well, more Porsche-like.

Who's Where: Jason Castriota opens own design consultancy

Tue, 23 Mar 2010

Former Bertone and Pininfarina designer, Jason Castriota, has opened his own design consultancy based in New York and Turin. CDN recently caught up with Castriota - who is currently in New York - and discovered he's already working on a series of projects, despite having not yet officially launched the company. Castriota told us that it had always been his "dream to have my own consultancy in New York", yet what's clearly pleasing him most is the volume of work he's already accrued, without officially launching the firm.
