Hyundai iX35 (2010) and Santa Fe (2010) 4x4s scooped
Thu, 16 Jul 2009By Richard Webber First Official Pictures 16 July 2009 15:50 We’ve scooped a brace of spy shots showing the next generation of Hyundai 4x4s – a facelifted Santa Fe and the iX35, the all-new successor to the Tucson. Both will use Hyundai’s high performance ‘R’ turbodiesel engines and the choice of a manual or new automatic six-speed ‘box. Nissan Qashqai: UK 2011 changes

So it was no huge surprise to get an email from Nissan this morning detailing changes to the Qashqai for 2011 in the UK. Stop/Start turns up as an option for the first time on the 1.6 litre petrol Qashqais (for £200) which, if you can get in to the habit of sticking the car in neutral and foot off the clutch every time you grind to a halt in traffic, can yield decent fuel savings.
Meet the 214-mpg Volkswagen Twin-Up concept
Fri, 08 Nov 2013Ahead of a Tokyo motor show debut, VW is showing off the Twin-Up concept. Essentially an advanced version of the company's entry-level Up supermini, the Twin-Up runs a modified version of the plug-in diesel-electric hybrid driveline used in the high-tech XL1 for spectacular claimed combined consumption of 214 mpg on the Euro combined cycle along with a zero-emissions electric range of 31 miles. The Twin-Up name alludes to the new car's twin drive sources.
