A14 to become world’s first wifi road?
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Around 70 miles of the A14 between Cambridge and Felixstowe is to become a ‘smart road’ fitted with sensors that monitor traffic movement. These sensors will generate highly accurate information about the level of traffic congestion, which is then wirelessly transmitted to a central control system in order to automatically adjust the variable speed limit. At a stroke, the CLS AMG qualifies joins the world's fastest estate car club. With 518bhp as standard (rising to an optional 549bhp), the Shooting Brake is quicker to 62mph than a Porsche 911 Carrera S.
