Jaguar XFR-S arrives ahead of LA debut
Wed, 28 Nov 2012The Jaguar XFR-S – Jaguar’s most powerful saloon car to date – has leaked out ahead of its debut tonight at the Los Angeles Auto Show. We’re hoping that Jaguar has managed to bestow extra power on the very appealing XFR without wrecking the stuff that makes Jaguar saloons so appealing – the dynamic/ride balance – which, if they have, will make the XFR-S a more appealing bonkers sports saloon than the German offerings. The promise is all there with a new butch front end, a more aggressive body kit, chunks of carbon fibre, a huge rear wing for extra downforce, a new diffuser at the back, stiffer springs, a new rear subframe with stiffer bushes, a tweaked active diff and a tweak of the stability control for more fun.
Opel/Vauxhall Adam Rocks previews crossover, cabrio
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Opel/Vauxhall has previewed its Adam Rocks 'concept' ahead of its world debut at next month's Geneva motor show. This mini-crossover is taller and wider than the production Adam thanks to a suspension raised by 15mm with a 20mm wider stance. Its fabric sunroof suggests it will compete with the Fiat 500C and the new Citroen DS3 Cabrio. The sketches show unpainted plastic bumpers and extended wheelarches along with underbody protection, emphasizing its rugged appearance apparently inspired by "parkour athletes".
Toyota's Origami-inspired Geneva motor show stand
Wed, 20 Feb 2013Toyota will premiere its new, origami-inspired global stand design at the upcoming Geneva motor show. The new design, dubbed ‘The Wave', is inspired by the traditional Japanese craft, previewed by this paper maquette. The stand will use curves to convey simplicity and "strength and vibrancy, and at the same time warmth and familiarity", according to Toyota.
