Carburetors and linkages are totally disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, passages are blown clear with high pressure air. Pistons and bores are polished and mounts are trued. New fuel inlet needle valves, throttle shafts or shaft seals, gaskets, diaphragms and o-rings installed. Metering needle seals replaced on adjustable needle models. Bypass valves rebuilt.Temperature compensators are cleaned and adjusted. Chokes disassembled, cleaned and adjusted. Includes new manifold mounting gaskets. Does NOT include missing or broken parts. Car-buying confidence hits new high

THE NUMBER of people who believe they will buy a new car in the next three years has jumped to 71%, according to the latest AA Car Purchase Index; up from 55% last year. Of the 19,786 survey respondents who said they were going to buy a new car, 42% said they would choose a petrol engine, with 38% saying definitely diesel. A further 13% don’t know what fuel type they will opt for, but 7% will choose some kind of hybrid and 1% will go fully electric – a total of exactly 100 respondents.

Kia recalls 7,000 cars

KIA IS recalling more than 7,000 of its UK models due to a possible seatbelt problem. The recall affects 5,787 Sportage models and 1,432 Soul vehicles and concerns a possible fault with the vehicle's seatbelt pre-tensioner. Kia said that although it was not aware of any injuries resulting from this possible fault, discovered as a result of monitoring of customer vehicles, it was concerned that some pre-tensioners might not work properly due to a faulty piston within the mechanism.
