Geely FC-1 concept

Thu, 03 Apr 2008

The third concept Geely is poised to reveal in Beijing will be the the FC-1, a station wagon-based CUV. With only a single side view image to judge from, the overall styling of the FC-1 displays a much faster and sleeker look than the other two, comparing to the GT concept's retro-organic and HL MPV's modern and simple design. By targeting the CUV segment - the trendiest vehicle segment in the world today - the FC-1 concept depicts the least 'shock value' of the three concept vehicles, and it might just have the brightest and most realistic future of them all.

Creapole graduates on course to become influential designers

Mon, 15 Feb 2010

Since its establishment in 1981, the creative design school Creapole ESDI has enjoyed the rich atmosphere of its unique location, set in the cultural and historical heart of Paris between the Louvre and the Georges Pompidou Center. By harnessing the romantic charm of the city with a careful awareness of human requirements, emotional as well as technical ideas can be turned into functional concepts across the broad structure at Creapole.   The school's disciplines include transport, product or fashion design, video game animation, visual communication, interior architecture or art design, and flexibility is given to applicants of different ages depending on their academic background.

Concept Car of the Week: Chevrolet Express (1987)

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

A fantastic selection of concept cars from the ‘80s were featured in Back to the Future II such as the Pontiac Pursuit, the Ford Probe or the Saab EV-1, but my personal favorite was the Chevrolet Express that almost ran over Marty upon his arrival in the year 2015. Before being a movie extra, the Express was presented in 1987 as another attempt from GM to adapt aircraft engineering to automotive requirements. GM had been experimenting with gas turbines for more than 20 years, dating back to the 370hp XP-21 Firebird from 1954, but that concept was quite primitive compared to its younger brother.
