New software for cloud-based 3D model file sharing and reviewing
Tue, 07 May 2013Sunglass is a new platform for sharing and syncing 3D models files over the Cloud has been developed, allowing designers to collaborate on a single model, regardless of their location. Created by MIT graduates Kaustuv DeBiswas and Nitin Rao, Sunglass allows designers, clients and co-workers to share, review and chat with others linked to the project in real time and virtually annotate onto the models directly in their browser without having to download any software. One of the main attractions of Sunglass is that it works with most 3D modeling software such as Autodesk, Solidworks, Rhino and sketch-up.

Reports from the US say that Hyundai is considering badging their premium cars as ‘Genesis’, although there will be no Genesis ‘Brand’. The rumours that Hyundai want to move in to Lexus and Infiniti territory by creating a luxury sub-brand – Genesis being the favoured moniker – have been doing the rounds for years.
Former General Motors CEO Robert Stempel dies
Mon, 09 May 2011Former General Motors CEO Robert Stempel, who led the automaker during a turbulent period of recession and restructuring in the early 1990s, has died at the age of 77. "Bob was a very popular chairman with employees, and his many accomplishments as a visionary engineer included leading the development of the catalytic converter, one of the great environmental advancements in auto history," GM said in a statement. "His knowledge of battery development led to the push for the EV1 electric car, and Bob continued to build his expertise in the electrification of the automobile after he left GM in 1992." Stempel died Saturday in Florida, the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press reported Monday night.
