Opel has taken on the winner of last year's Car Design News – Opel/Vauxhall Interactive Design Competition, Victor Uribe, to work as the latest addition to its creative design team. Uribe, a Transportation Design graduate from Istituto Europeo Di Design in Turin, Italy, emerged as the winner in the exterior design category for his submission, ‘Lounge in Motion', and won himself a six-month internship at the Opel/Vauxhall's European Design Studio in Rüsselsheim, Germany. Subaru Cuts Price Of BRZ Sports Car

SUBARU has announced a price cut for its rear-wheel drive coupe, the BRZ. Alongside the sister Toyota GT86 car, the BRZ is pitched at buyers seeking a fun, low cost sports coupe to rival the driving enjoyment offered by more expensive German models. From May the BRZ experience will be £2,500 less expensive, as Subaru is reducing the price to put more distance between it and its newly launched WRX STI model.

Jaguar puts C-X75 supercar on ice

Jaguar has reversed its plan to sell the C-X75 hybrid supercar, fearing the project could be a commercial failure unable to recoup its investment. ‘After a thorough reassessment of the market conditions, the company’s view is that the global economic landscape does not currently support the introduction of a supercar such as C-X75,’ said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar global brand director. Together with project partner Williams F1, Jaguar has built five prototypes of the plug-in hybrid.
