ZZ502/502 Chevy Performance Base Crate Engine502 hp @ 5,200 rpm / 567 lb.-ft. @ 4,200 rpm
A DIY Foundation for Big Torque! Chevrolet Performance offers the ZZ502/502 Base crate engine for the builder who wants the super-strong bottom end and high-flow aluminum oval-port cylinder heads, but also wants to finish the engine his or her way. It’s a great foundation and it’s up to you to make the most of it! Like the complete GM ZZ502/502 Deluxe crate engine, a set of high-flow aluminum oval-port cylinder heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft designed to support low-rpm torque production enable it to hit the 500 lb.-ft. mark by approximately 2,500 rpm and hold it above the mark until around 5,000 rpm. It also features a brand-new, latest-generation block casting with four-bolt main caps and an all-forged rotating assembly for exceptional strength and durability. Chevy rates the ZZ502/502 Base engine at 502 hp and 567 lb.-ft. of torque when it is finished with Chevrolet Performance aluminum intake manifold P/N 12363406 and Holley 870-cfm carburetor P/N 19170094. The other parts you need to complete the engine – including chrome dress-up parts – are available from Chevy Performance. 12496962 Chevrolet Crate MotorZZ502/502 Base Tech Specs: $7,647.19 |

Donkey Kong Derby Car wins IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition
Tue, 27 Aug 2013Product design consultancy Priority Design's ‘Donkey Kong Derby Car' was the winner of the IDSA Launch Day 2013 competition, earning its team a brand-new 3D printer. The Launch Day competition, which took place at the Industrial Design Society of America conference on 24 August, asked for designs for a tiny 3D-printed car that could be launched down a miniature model of a ski jump before smashing into a crash site. Featuring Mario and Princess from the classic Nintendo series in glorious 32-bit form, the Donkey Kong Derby Car – car being a very loose term, as it has no wheels – was, in fact, a barrel.
Cycling Ace Continues To Impress As He Aims For Le Mans Start
Tue, 02 Sep 2014OLYMPIC cyclist Chris Hoy remains on course to make his Le Mans racing debut, despite narrowly missing out on the points in the penultimate round of the 2014 British GT Championship. His Nissan GT Academy Team RJN GT-R finished the weekend’s British GT race at Brands Hatch in 11th place, although this was an improvement on a mid-grid 16th place starting position for the two-hour race. Sharing the car with 2011 Nissan GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough, Hoy started first and battled to 11th place before handing the car over to the GP3 Series and Le Mans racer for the race to the flag.
