Saab 1947-2009: GM 'will close Saab'

It will begin winding down the Saab operation immediately. There had been a glimmer hope for Saab earlier this month, as supercar maker Spyker stepped in as a possible suitor after similarly small sports car specialist Koenigsegg walked away from a potential deal in November 2009.But GM admitted it could not viably sell Saab to Spyker – and no other bidders were forthcoming.

Boca Raton concours to honor Milhous brothers

Well-heeled car fans will be able to get their hands on some highly coveted autos when the Milhous collection goes up for auction on Feb. 24, in a multiday sale that coincides with the Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance. Subaru's boxer engine gets biggest overhaul since 1989

Subaru said its next-generation, horizontally opposed engine will debut this year in the Forester and deliver a 10 percent boost in fuel economy. The four-cylinder engine, which will come in displacements of either 2.0 or 2.5 liters, is the first major overhaul of the brand's signature boxer power plant in 21 years, Subaru's Japanese parent company Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. said.
