Lexus CT 200h – the Lexus LF-Ch concept that was
Fri, 12 Feb 2010The Lexus CT 200h will debut at Geneva next month Update: 26th Feb: Lexus has now done the full Geneva reveal of the Lexus CT 200h Lexus did threaten when they brought the LF-Ch concept to the Frankfurt Motor Show in all its goldness that the future for Lexus was hybrids. And despite the less than universal praise the LF-Ch concept received for its looks ‘only a mother could love’ we’re going to get the production version at Geneva next month – the Lexus CT 200h. Lexus are calling the CT 200h “…the first full hybrid vehicle in the premium compact segment” and want us to think of the CT 200h as a big car with all the luxuries you would expect, but in a smaller package and kind to fluffy bunnies.
Lamborghini LP 670-4 SV – the ultimate Murcielago
Fri, 13 Feb 2009The Murcielago can in many ways be considered not only the greatest Lamborghini ever made, but also the last of the ‘Real’ Lambos. Just like Lamborghinis of old, it is still as mad as a hatter, but that madness is tempered by a dose of Audi build quality and common sense. Conceived before Audi bought Lamborghini, it retained much of the ‘Soul’ of the Lamborghini heritage, something that is a little lacking in its younger sibling, the Gallardo.
McLaren F1 – The perfect safe haven in troubled times
Tue, 27 Jan 2009The McLaren F1 (along with its ‘Super’ brother, the LM) is considered by many to be the ultimate road car. Light, fast and enormously desirable, the F1 has been a stunning success story. Initially conceived in the late ’80s, and coming to fruition with the launch of the first road car in 1995, just 65 road-going F1s where made between 1995 and 1998, with 5 further LMs (6 if you count the prototype, which is still owned by McLaren and promised to Lewis Hamilton if he pulls of the double World Championship by winning in 2009).
