501360 CUSTOM TORSION SPRING PLATE CONVERSION SETS- These are not for a stock vw torsion please see ebay store for those.
FOR CUSTOM TORSION HOUSINGS This kit uses a 3/4 heim joint to allow your trailing arm to freely pivot up and down. We offer these spring plate conversion kits for both a stock VW style torsion housing or "custom" torsion housing. A stock VW style torsion housing is wider than a custom torsion housing and requires a bend in the plate leading back to the trailing arm so the plate will line up correctly with the trailing arm. Hardware and heim joints are not included with this set. Two 3/4-16 bolts that are 2 inches long are required to mount the heim joints on to the torsion plates. Ten 1/2-20 bolts that are 1 1/4 inches long are required to mount the spring plate to the trailing arm. Eight 3/8-24 bolts that are 2 1/4 inches long are required to mount the torsion cover plate to the torsion housing. Fri, 27 Feb 2009By Glen Waddington First Official Pictures 27 February 2009 12:00 As you may recall, there was a bit of a four-wheel drive thing going on in the 1980s. It was single-handedly started by Audi and copied by Porsche (959), Ford (Sierra XR4x4), VW (Rally Golf), even Citroën (BX GTi 4x4), all in the name of high-speed handling. Without them, and the rallying success story they ultimately spawned, there’d be no Subaru Impreza Turbo or Mitsubishi Lancer Evo today.
Goodwood Moving Motor Show: (almost) an unqualified success
Fri, 02 Jul 2010The Goodwood Moving Motor Show Yesterday we toddled along to Goodwood to see the set up for this year’s Festival of Speed and to have a look at the Moving Motor Show in action for the first time. We also – courtesy of Jaguar, who had invited us for the day – got an early drive up the hillclimb-based circuit that forms part of the Moving Motor Show’s appeal for the lucky ones who got the opportunity to take the wheel of one of the impressive bunch of cars on display. And it was an impressive bunch, with everything from the Toyota Auris Hybrid to the Rolls Royce Phantom DHC via the Audi R8 and the new Jaguar XJ on offer to drive.

Wed, 08 Jan 2014At the Consumers Electronics Show this week Toyota claimed that a production version of its four-door midsize FCV concept fuel cell sedan will hit showrooms some time in 2015. Toyota has been investing in fuel-cell technology for the past 20 years, and since 2002 it has been testing and developing prototypes primarily in North America. Toyota claims that it has reduced the cost of producing a fuel-cell powertrain, and has estimated a 95 percent cost reduction in the powertrain and fuel tanks for the 2015 production model versus the 2002 prototype.
