Toyota conducted fix of Prius brakes but didn't notify drivers
Thu, 04 Feb 2010Toyota Motor Corp., under fire from fresh quality complaints about its popular Prius hybrid, says it conducted a software fix to address reports of slipping brakes. But the world's biggest carmaker didn't notify customers at the time of the change. And it says it is still uncertain how to handle the thousands of Prius vehicles that were sold before the fix.
Mercedes shows GLA45 AMG concept
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Mercedes-AMG showed its take on a compact high-performance SUV at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show with the Concept GLA45 AMG. AMG says along with the distinctive design, power comes from the world’s most authoritative four-cylinder series production engine. That would be the AMG 2.0-liter turbocharged four, producing 355 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque.
Bristol Cars sold to China. Possibly.
Fri, 01 Apr 2011Bristol Cars - is it a Chinese Takeaway Earlier this month we reported the sad demise of the quirky and eccentric supercar maker that is Bristol cars, forced in to administration through a shortage of equally eccentric millionaires to buy their creations from another time. The good news is that they still look like a viable entity if they’re properly marketed, so we didn’t expect it to be too long before a buyer popped up and grabbed the Bristol Cars name, its Kensington showrooms and the handful of staff left. So we weren’t surprised to get an email this morning from China telling us the press there are reporting that the Xinjiang No1 Tractor Company – a State-owned maker of tractors (you’d never have guessed) – had snapped up Bristol Cars from the administrators.
