Up for bid is the Corvette Hood Support Safety Pin/Flag that will work on any 1953 through 1971 Corvette.  This is a great addition to any Corvette show car or daily driver and a great way to protect your investment.  The pin/flag will prevent the hood support from unlatching if blown by the wind or bumped by a spectator, judge or yourself.  This Safety Pin/Flag works great for Bloomington Gold, NCRS, NCCC Show and Shine or any other form of judging. It will also keep your hood open when working under the hood in the garage. I started selling these at Corvette meets several years ago after watching a1971Corvette hood slam down and crack at a meet in Texas.  This pin is a smaller version of the “Remove Before Flight” pins used on Air Force aircraft. Don’t stick a bolt or screw driver through your hood support, use this durable high quality embroidered flag.  Simply slip the clevis pin in the hood support hole and place the hitch pin into the clevis pin all of which are interconnected for safety and convenience.  The red flag is easy to spot when you are ready to lower the hood. Buy with confidence from a 40 year Corvette enthusiast and restorer. If you have any questions please e-mail me I’ll be happy to answer them.  Shipping is via USPS Priority mail in the US and Canada and First Class International Mail to Australia and Europe. Jaguar XF is ‘Car of the Decade’

Mon, 22 Oct 2012

The Southern Guild of Motoring Writers has declared the Jaguar XF the car of the decade at the SGMW’s 10th anniversary event. Designed by Ian Callum, under Ford’s ownership, the XF demonstrated that Jaguar had finally realised that building cars that were a pastiche of past glories was no longer enough to guarantee sales. Under the skin, much of the Jaguar XF carried over from its predecessor – the Jaguar S Type – but it was in the execution that the XF demonstrated it was capable of giving Jaguar new life.

GM has invested $40million in its Korea Design Center, doubling the size of the facility. The expanded studio opened on 25 April, and will give improved support for both exterior and interior design. As well as more studio space, the upgraded facility now includes improved exterior modeling and 3D printing facilities, an outdoor viewing area with three turntables, and a virtual reality studio – the latter allowing design reviews to take place in real time with GM's network of nine other design centers in six other countries around the world.

Honda CR-Z Mugen arrives February 2012

Mon, 28 Nov 2011

Honda Mugen CR-Z will cost under £24k Honda told us that the Mugen CR-Z was just a concept, but now we learn that the hot CR-Z will arrive in the UK in February 2012 from ‘under £24k’. The Honda CR-Z is a decent enough little car; it has sporty handling and sporty looks, but it’s a real anti-climax to drive thanks to its 1.5 litre hybrid setup. Stung by criticism of the CR-Z’s performance, Honda got Mugen to have a play with its sporty little hybrid this year, and they did what Honda should probably have done from the start – strap on a supercharger to the hybrid lump.
