Please read whole description.  This is a very rare motor that very few Harley "experts" even know about.  In 1984 when Harley was shifting from the Shovelhead to the Evolution, some of the Evos were actually built FROM THE FACTORY on shovelhead cases with shovelhead flywheels.  These motors can be identified by the stars stamped across the motor ID boss where it would be on a shovel, in front of the front lifter block.  Some people call them "STAR MOTORS."  The ID on these motors was moved to the left case under the rear cylinder. You can also tell it has heavy flywheels because of the distance from the case to the flywheel when you look through the timing hole.  Has new cam, lifters, pistons rings, valve guide seals, etc.  I built this one very mild for reliability and with low compression combined with heavy shovelhead flywheels, you can really get that cool, ka-thunk, ka-thunk idle the shovels are famous for.  You just can't get later evos to do that, as their flywheels are eight pounds lighter....and before I get a bunch of scolding about low idle, low oil pressure, learn about roller motors before you comment.  THE TOP END OF THIS MOTOR IS ALL FACTORY EVO.  Rocker covers are replica Shovelhead only.  They're $500 a set by themselves.  I painted the cylinders black and with the contrast, it really looks like a Shovel.  This motor will baffle even the most experienced Harley guys.  I even called HD to get some info on how many of the early evos were built on shovel cases, but they had no answer...nor knowledge...because all they care about is Twincams, I guess.  Please don't "know it all" me, but if anyone has RELIABLE info on these motor production numbers, let me know.  Call 423 285 0050 with questions.  PLEASE SEE MY OTHER ITEMS.  I'm selling out of all my Harley stuff--lots of evo FXR/DYNA motors, frames, transmissions, etc.

BMW Z4 sDrive 35is (2009) at Detroit motor show 2010

Mon, 14 Dec 2009

These are the first official pictures of the new high-performance BMW Z4 sDrive 35is, unveiled today at the Detroit motor show. A bit of a mouthful (that's BMW's new nomenclature for you), but it's essentially the fastest, hardest Z4 to date since the recently departed M roadster curled over and died. The Z4 sDrive 35is uses Munich's existing 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six, tweaked to produce 335bhp and 332lb ft of the twisty stuff all the way from 1400-4500rpm. That's one flat torque curve, and a 29bhp jump over the regular sDrive35i.

When the last Ferrari Racing Days outing was at Silverstone, in 2007, Ferrari managed to garner 385 of Maranello’s finest to parade round Silverstone’s track for a new world record, but that record was broken later that year by Ferrari in Japan with 485 cars.

GM's historic Willow Run plant closes

Fri, 24 Dec 2010

After 68 years of arming the nation and putting America on wheels, the Willow Run manufacturing plant in southeast Michigan closed on Thursday. The 5-million-square-foot powertrain plant, owned by Motors Liquidation Corp., the remnants of the former General Motors Corp., has fallen victim to GM's 2009 bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring. About 300 workers left at the plant will either “retire, transfer to another campus or go on layoff,” said Chris Lee, a spokesman for the reorganized General Motors Co.
