I recently purchased a large lot of New Old Stock auto parts from the estate of an auto parts store owner who closed the doors of the shop in the mid 80's. Along with this lot of parts was a large number of rebuilt starters and alternators. I am listing all the starters and alternators here on Ebay starting at $9.99 each with no reserve. These starters and alternators are rebuilt and have never been used or installed. Some still have the boxes, others had tattered boxes that were thrown out. September is historically one of the two biggest registration months of the year, as buyers rush to snap up the autumn's new number plate – yet sales were down by a fifth last month. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, which collates sales data from dealers, called it 'stormy September', as new-car registrations plummeted by 21 percent from last year's figure to 330,295.
