Up for bid is the Corvette Hood Support Safety Pin/Flag that will work on any 1953 through 1971 Corvette.  This is a great addition to any Corvette show car or daily driver and a great way to protect your investment.  The pin/flag will prevent the hood support from unlatching if blown by the wind or bumped by a spectator, judge or yourself.  The Safety Pin/Flag works great for Bloomington Gold, NCRS, NCCC, Show and Shine or any other type of judging. It will also keep your hood open when working under the hood in the garage. I started selling these at Corvette meets several years ago after watching a 1971Corvette hood slam down and crack at a meet in Texas.  This pin is a smaller version of the bright red “Remove Before Flight” pins used on Air Force aircraft. Don’t stick a bolt or screw driver through your hood support, use this durable high quality flag that is embroidered on both sides.  Simply slip the clevis pin in the hood support hole and place the hitch pin into the clevis pin all of which are interconnected for safety and convenience.  The red flag is easy to spot when you are ready to lower the hood. Buy with confidence from a 40 year Corvette owner and restorer. If you have any questions please e-mail me I’ll be happy to answer them.  Shipping is via USPS Priority mail in the US and Canada and First Class International Mail to Australia and Europe. General Motors unveiled the engine back in March, confirming that it will be an option on the new-for-2014 Cadillac CTS, and recent Cadillac press materials confirm that the engine option will be expanded to the XTS. The all-aluminum engine makes use of direct-injection technology and is the highest-output V6 in GM history.

Renault Clio & Captur get range updates The new Renault Clio and the new Renault Captur really haven’t been with us very long, but that’s not stopping Renault from extending the range of options. Both the Clio and Captur can now be ordered with the six-speed EDC auto fitted to the dCi 90 diesel engine, offering an extra option for those who just want an easy drive. If you opt for the EDC ‘box on the new Captur, you’ll get (official) economy of 72.4mpg and emissions of 95g/km, whilst the Clio offers 76mpg and 83.1mpg.

New BMW M3 and M4 engine secrets laid bare

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

BMW's M division has lifted the veil of secrecy on the inline six-cylinder engine bound for its upcoming M3 sedan and new-to-the-range M4 coupe and convertible, revealing a potent twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter direct injection gasoline unit that produces an official 424 hp at 7,500 rpm and what officials describe as "significantly more than 369 lb-ft" of torque. The newly developed engine, known under the internal codename S55 B30, shares its 84.0 mm bore and 89.6 mm stroke with BMW's standard turbocharged 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder direct-injection gasoline mill, the M55 used across the German car maker's lineup, endowing the aluminum block unit with an overall swept volume of 2,979 cc. This represents a sizeable 990 cc reduction on the engine BMW's M division's new unit replaces, the S65.
